Well, today didn't start off too well.  After dinner last night I began not feeling well.   Throughout the night I developed "stomach issues", bad headache, chills and fever.  When I got up this morning it wasn't any better, so I went back to bed and missed our speakers.  After sleeping a while longer I felt better...I did manage to eat lunch.  I'm doing ok now....but still feeling a little "puny."  Not sure if it was my meal or what...but some others have been experiencing similar symptoms.

After lunch today our schedule had somewhat changed.  We went to visit The Hanging Church in old Cairo.  The Hanging Church is a Christian Coptic Church.  We also visited a Synagogue and Mosque.  While all three of these old churches were beautiful, the highlight for me was getting to visit the place where the Holy Family stayed when they fled to Egypt.  It was an overwhelming feeling to be standing where Joseph, Mary and Jesus had actually stayed. (See picture).

I don't believe that I mentioned that our group always travels with an armed escort.  Today, perhaps in light of the New Year's Day bombing at a Coptic Church in Alexandria, we were escorted by two armed escorts on our bus as well as an armed escort following our bus.  Security is very high in Cairo.

For those who aren't familiar (as I wasn't) The Coptic Church in Egypt is one of the earliest organized Christian Churches in the world.  The Coptic's remain a principal minority in Egypt today.

Tomorrow we are scheduled to worship at two different churches and visit a Refugee Ministry.

Continue to keep our group in your prayers as we travel.  Monday we leave Cairo and journey to Sinai.  Looking forward to climbing Mt. Sinai on Tuesday!

For now...goodnight!
